This is a unique and unforgettable experience and will give you a glance in the life of being a mahout!
By participating in our mahout program you will:
Learn about the Asian elephants
Enjoy close contact with elephants and take care of 1 elephant during your stay
Learn the elephant commands
Feed the elephant and gather food for the elephant (by cutting banana trees or grass, preparing sticky rice and unloading trucks with elephant food)
Clean the elephant’s area
Experience Thai culture and the mahout life
Bear in mind that being a mahout is hard work, but it is a very rewarding job!
Prices
1 Week (7 days, 6 nights)
Adult Rate: 20,000 THB per person
If you are coming from Bangkok:
We also provide the private transfer from Bnagkok to our Elephant sanctuary
Rate price
• 2,200 bath one way. (maximum 4 people)
• 4,000 bath round trip. (maximum 4 people)
• 3,200 bath one way. (maximum 9 people)
• 6,000 bath round trip. (maximum 9 people)
Age limit:
Only for participants 18 years and older
* Unfortunately, if you leave the program early we cannot give you a refund.
What is includes
- Transport to and from the city of Kanchanaburi
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinking water, coffee and tea
- Two mahout T-shirts
- Accommodation traditional Thai style cottages in Elephants World sanctuary

1 Week Program
Monday
10.00 Introduction and safety rules.
10.30 Feed the elephants. Observe the elephants in the river.
11.00 Clean fruit or vegetables. Gather food for elephants. Cook sticky rice for our old elephants.
12.00 Buffet lunch.
13.00 Observe our elephants having a mud bath (elephant spa)
13:20 Gather plant food for the elephants. e.g banana trees, bana grass, prepare fruit baskets for the afternoon and learn about the elephant’s diet
14.00 Feed sticky rice or grass balls to the old and weak elephants.
14.30 Take the elephants to the river for a bath.
15.30 Feed the elephants fruit and vegetables.
16.00 Take the elephants to sleeping area.
18:00 Dinner.
Tuesday
06:00 Hiking.
08:00 Prepare fruit basket.
08:20 Breakfast.
09:00 Walk with the elephants.
10:20 Feed and bath the elephants at the river.
12.00 Buffet lunch.
13.00 Observe our elephants having a mud bath (elephant spa)
13.30 Floating.
15.30 Feed the elephants fruit and vegetables.
18:00 Dinner.
Wednesday
08:00 Prepare fruit basket.
08:20 Breakfast.
09:00 Visit and enjoy Erawan waterfall .
12.00 Lunch time at Erawan waterfall.
18:00 Dinner.
Thursday
08:00 Prepare fruit basket.
08:20 Breakfast.
09:20 Volunteer day.
– Cleaning fruit shop area.
– Cleaning health care center.
– Cleaning the elephant poo.
– Cleaning feeding area.
12.00 Lunch time.
13.00 Observe our elephants having a mud bath (elephant spa)
13.30 Volunteer day.
– Cleaning fruit shop area.

14.30 Prepare for forest night at Ourland.
15:00 Go to Ourland by Floating or by the car.
18:00 Dinner.

08:00 Snake Education course
10:00 Back to Elephantsworld to feed and bath the elephant.
12.00 Lunch time.
13.00 Observe our elephants having a mud bath (elephant spa)

Saturday
08.00 am End of the program
08:30 am Depart for Elephants World Sanctuary head back to Bangkok
11:30 am Arrive at your hotel depending on the traffic.
